Useppa Island is an exclusive private island club with picturesque white cottages, pink pathways, and lush tropical vegetation. The only way to visit Useppa is to be a member of the island club, the guest of a member, or to ride with Captiva Cruises.
Useppa Island is an interior island—there are no beaches for swimming or shelling. Still, guests enjoy the island’s beautiful architecture and lush landscape, making it a must-see island paradise.
The Barbara Sumwalt History Museum is located on the island and open seven days a week. It provides audio tours and traces Useppa’s story from the Calusa Indians to the present. This small museum is superbly done and worth a visit.
Only accessible by boat, visitors arrive with Captiva Cruises or as a club guest. Private boats are also welcome with prior arrangement.
