Backwater Adventure in Marco Island offers a unique boating experience: guests pilot their own two-person mini boat on a guided tour through the remote waters of the Ten Thousand Islands. The boats are easy to operate, safe, and suitable for all ages.
We are the ORIGINAL Craig-Cat Tour! Since 2011, we’ve been one of the top-rated watersport adventures in the region. This is an interactive wildlife and sightseeing journey through mangroves and open water – not your typical tour. You drive your own boat while a guide leads the way, ensuring safety and showing you the sights.
The Craig-Cat is an exceptionally unique watercraft: a two-seater with a 30HP outboard motor, capable of reaching speeds up to 30 mph. The side-by-side seating allows for a more relaxed and personal ride than traditional jet skis or Waverunners.
Known for being stable, safe, and easy to use – after a 10-minute introduction, guests are ready to go. Each boat comes with a free cooler (with bottled water and ice) and a built-in dry box to keep your belongings safe and dry.
The guided tours last approximately 2 hours and explore mangroves, waterways, and open bays. Along the way, participants often spot dolphins, manatees, seabirds, and more. The guide sets the pace and pauses frequently to explain nature and take pictures.
Tours depart from the marina in Goodland, east of Marco Island. Departure times vary by season – online booking is recommended.
Backwater Adventure blends excitement, nature, and personal freedom into a guided boating experience. Perfect for couples, families, and explorers looking for an unforgettable Florida adventure – hands-on and safe.
