The Burrowing Owl Festival – hosted by the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife – is a popular wildlife and conservation event held at the Rotary Park Environmental Center in Cape Coral. On Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the focus is on burrowing owls, nature protection, and outdoor fun for all ages.
Rotary Park is home to the only “Burrowing Owl Festival,” a fun and educational event honoring Cape Coral’s official city bird – the burrowing owl. People travel from near and far to catch a glimpse of these elusive little creatures. They live all over the city – in yards, parks, medians, and vacant lots – so keep your eyes open while exploring. Spotting one is a true delight!
The festival promises a day full of education and fun – with hands-on children’s activities, guided nature walks, live animals, a butterfly house, butterfly plants for sale, bus tours to active owl burrows in the area, and much more.
