The Peace River Wildlife Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Ponce de Leon Park in Punta Gorda (3400 Ponce de Leon Pkwy, FL 33950). Its mission is to protect Florida’s native wildlife through rescue, rehabilitation, and public education. Animals with permanent, non-life-threatening injuries that cannot be released into the wild are provided a lifelong, safe habitat. Through structured education programs, the center helps raise awareness about local wildlife and teaches how to peacefully coexist with these beautiful creatures.

Rescue, Rehab & Education

Cares for more than 2,500 injured or orphaned animals annually – including birds, reptiles, and mammals
About 200 non-releasable animals remain as permanent residents
Walk-through enclosures with raptors, pelicans, owls, tortoises, and more
Sunset Celebrations: Held every 2nd Friday (Nov–Mar) from 4–6?PM – with animal presentations, hors d’oeuvres, and sunset views over Peace River
