Gulfside City Park, also known as Algiers Beach, is one of the most beautiful and pet-friendly beaches on Sanibel Island. Located along the scenic Gulf of America / Gulf of Mexico, this tranquil beach is a perfect escape for you and your furry companion to walk, swim, or simply relax in nature.
A portion of the beach lies adjacent to both a City of Sanibel park and a federal nature preserve, home to endangered nesting shorebirds and sea turtles during much of the year. Dogs are welcome but must remain on a leash (maximum 8 feet) at all times, and owners are legally required to clean up after their pets.
Facilities include picnic tables, wash stations, and restrooms. Parking is available for a fee of $4 per hour between 7 AM and 7 PM (free after 7 PM).
