Cypress Woods Golf & Country Club in Naples features an 18-hole golf course measuring 6,330 yards with a par of 71. Designed by renowned Florida architect Gordon G. Lewis, the course first opened in 1999. In 2001, Lewis returned to refine his creation, making it both more challenging and enjoyable to play. [Source]
The course flows naturally through cypress heads, pine forests, rolling fairways, and elevated tees and greens—offering an escape from modern-day stress into a beautifully crafted golf experience. Players navigate through scenic wetlands and nature preserves while enjoying a fun round of the greatest game ever played.
During the 2001 redesign, fairways were widened, and much of the brush and palmettos were cleared to allow better recovery from the rough. While many holes are suited to the driver, long irons and fairway woods are often needed to approach the greens effectively. Course management is essential here—every shot demands your full attention.
The course is not only challenging but also visually impressive. Hole 4 is one of the most beautiful holes on the course, but don’t let the view fool you—it’s designed to test your skill. From the back tees, players must carry a wetland to reach the fairway. Another picturesque yet intimidating hole is number 16, a par-3 that plays 205 yards from the back and 113 from the front. A waste bunker guards the right, winding between the tees and the course’s largest lake, which lines the left side of the hole.
