The Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens in Punta Gorda offer a unique combination of Florida’s native beauty and modern sculpture. The mission is to create an environment that inspires creativity through spectacular plant life and world-class artwork.
A 50-million-year-old petrified palm fossil inspired both the garden’s logo and its landmark sculpture, the "Steel Palm", which greets visitors at the waterfront. The grounds are being developed to span over 30 acres, making them one of Florida’s largest botanical and sculpture gardens.
Founded by Roger and Linda Tetrault, the gardens began on 27 acres of upland and wetland terrain. Their vision—realized through the Tetrault Family Foundation—was to blend botanical collections with architectural design and world-class sculptures, all while preserving the natural landscape. Today, this foundation continues to support Charlotte County’s cultural and ecological growth.
